My name is Fred Eddie-Quartey and I am a Chicago-based event and portrait photographer.  I am also an IT Manager, by profession, but have always liked cameras since childhood.

What began as a casual hobby with a simple point-and-shoot camera in 1998, has grown into a full-time passion.  I initially bought that pocket 35-mm film camera because my wife always wanted me to take pictures of her when we went out.  One day, I came across a Canon AE-1 SLR camera which belonged to a late uncle and when I picked it up and held it in my hands, I knew I was onto something serious.  The build quality and the view the viewfinder provided an experience that my pocket camera just wasn't capable of.  Unfortunately, that camera had some mechanical issues, which led me to to buy my first SLR - A Nikon N60.  Just seeing the amazing work from professional photographers world-wide inspired me to create images of my own, which I hope others find inspirational as well.
